Calm / Safe Place
This imagery is used to build, and enhance the feelings of being soothed, calm, and safe. The Calm or Safe Place can then be called up by an individual in times of stress.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Tense muscles relay to the body that it's stressed. That keeps the cycle of stress and muscle tension going. Progressive muscle relaxation helps break this cycle by reducing muscle tension and general mental anxiety.
Leaves on a Stream
The purpose is to nurture the ability to notice thoughts without getting caught up or carried away by them. The “leaves on the stream” exercise can help individuals cultivate mindfulness and develop a non-judgmental stance towards their thoughts which can increase psychological flexibility.
