Maternal Wellbeing & Perinatal Mental Health
I believe that parenthood is a deeply personal journey and unique to each individual. I recognise this is a time of change, transition, and growth. Adjustment to parenthood can be a time of great excitement, great love, great stress, great uncertainty, and all of so much more.
I work with people who are wanting to fall pregnant, who are currently pregnant, those who have newborns, and those with infants and young children, as well as the more seasoned parent. I support people during these life stages to address mood difficulties, worries and tricky transitions.
One of my focus areas is working with perinatal trauma; that is a traumatic event happening during pregnancy, during birth, relating to babies’ health and wellbeing. This extends to birth trauma, birth difficulty, medical trauma. I also work with parents who have their own childhood trauma history which may impact the way that they experience their own parenting journey.
One of the challenges of modern-day life is that parents are more stretched; multitude of pressures – running household, juggling work outside of the home, navigating the advice of others, financial pressure - the list goes on. Support is available and you don’t have to go it alone.
My goal is to focus on your story and to gently walk through your journey, while understanding your difficulties, and supporting you.
